LG launches 4G enabled G2 Smartphone

This version is priced at RS 49,000 for the 32-GB model

LG Electronics India today announced the launch of 4G-enabled android smartphone LG G2, priced at Rs 49,000.

The 4G version of G2 is priced at RS 49,000 for the 32-GB model and shall be available in three colour variants white, black and gold, the company officials said.

Stating that 4G is a much awaited and relatively new mobile telephony in India, LG Electronics India's Mobile Communications Product & Marketing Head Amit Gujral said: "4G will become main stream in India by the end of 2015 and LG G2 is a first step to realise the new mobility service for the Indian consumers."

Highlighting the specification of LG G2 officials said it has 2.26 GHz Quard-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 32GB memory, camera with 13.0MP with OIS in the rear and 2.1MP at the front.

Bharti Airtel CEO-Karnataka Rohit Malhotra, who was present at the event, said 4G LTE is currently the fastest wireless internet service in India and as the only operator providing 4G services, "we have taken the lead in partnering OEM's to test their devices on our network and help grow the device ecosystem."

"We welcome LG G2 to the bouquet of devices which are 4G ready and are duly tested on our network," he added.

Stating that Airtel 3G customers can now seamlessly move to 4G experience on their existing 3G data pack with exactly same price, Malhotra said: "To enjoy 4G on move, customers just need to upgrade to a 4G SIM available at stores."

He also said Bangalore is India's first 4G on mobile enabled city. With introduction of mainstream 4G LTE smart phones, wider adoption of 4G would soon become a reality.
