Inaugurating a week-long LG Healthy Home Carnival in Ahmedabad on Friday, Deepak Jasrotia, branch manager (Gujarat), LG Electronics, said, "According to a recent survey carried out by ORG-Marg, we are holding the Number One position in the sales of refrigerators, washing machines and microwave ovens in Gujarat. We want to be the leaders in the colour television segment in the state by the end of this year. At present, we are competing with Onida, which has the largest market share in the state in this segment. We plan to sell one lakh colour televisions by the end of this year. With this, we expect to be the top player in this segment, mainly in flat CTVs." |

LG had sold 68,000 CTVs during the last year and with the launch of a new scheme which gives a free VCD player to an LG CTV buyer, Jasrotia believes that achieving sales of one lakh CTV in the year would not be difficult task. |

LG has of late launched its range of GSM mobile handsets in India. It also introduced six models in the Gujarat market and has recently launched an exchange offer. |

"This is a unique scheme launched for the first time in India by any cellular handset manufacturing company. With an attractive price range of Rs 4,500 to Rs 17,000 for a colour display handset, we are aiming the second slot in the mobile handset market in Gujarat," Jasrotia said. |

Jasrotia said LG is also looking at increasing its stake in the air-conditioner market in the state with the launch of its premium range, Whisen. |
