LIC Housing Finance has posted a 72 per cent increase in net profit for the first quarter ended June 2010 over the same quarter last year. The profit after tax reported was Rs 212 crore as compared to Rs 123.8 crore in April-June 2009.
The total income for the reporting quarter rose by 30 per cent Rs 1012.45 crore from Rs 780.18 crore in the same quarter last year.
After reporting PAT for Q1, the stock gained Rs 51.10, or 5.10 per cent while the Sensex was down 10.28. The share was trading at Rs 1,052.
