Private GSM operator Uninor is confident the forthcoming Lok Sabha election would further fuel its growth momentum in Uttar Pradesh.
"During any election, there is increase in activity and people tend to talk more. This would surely have positive impact on telecom companies, Uninor being no exception," UP (E) business head Upanga Dutta told Business Standard here.
He noted the 'sabse sasta' (the cheapest) positioning of Uninor would also help it to be the preferred choice amongst masses during the rising poll activity in days to come.
"We are also increasing the number of our exclusive stores from 150 to 300 in the Circle for deeper penetration in the market," he informed.
Meanwhile, Uninor has become the fourth largest telecom operator in UP (East) Circle in terms of revenue during the third quarter of 2013-14.
"While the telecom industry grew by 3 per cent in UP (E) during the quarter, Uninor grew by 10 per cent," he claimed. Uninor currently has 7.9 million subscribers in the Circle.
