Automobile industry body SIAM is looking for a bigger show in terms of exhibition space and participants in the country's flagship Auto Expo to be held here next year.

With new participants like Chrysler of the Fiat Group, DSK Hyosung and Isuzu Motors in the list, the expo will have 41 companies showcasing their new products.

"In the next year' auto show, the exhibition space will be 48,000 square metre as against 39,000 square metres in the previous edition. Also the number of exhibitors will be up from 35 to around 41," SIAM Deputy Director General Sugato Sen told reporters here.

Expected footfall per day during the auto expo would be in the range of 70,000-75,000 people per day, he added.

Traditionally held at Delhi's Pragati Maidan, the venue of the expo has been partially shifted to the India Expo Mart here due to space constraints at the original venue.

Next year, the motor show will held here from February 5 -11, while the component show will continue to be at Paragti Maidan from February 6-9, 2014.

While the Greater Noida centre will exhibit automobiles including four wheelers and two wheelers, the Pragati Maidan venue will host component makers.

"We wanted to give international feel to the expo to be held next year, so we chose this venue (Greater Noida). Last couple of editions were not that great," newly elected SIAM President Vikram Kirloskar said.

He added that the organisers were looking for a bigger venue for the next edition of the expo so that both automobiles and component makers could exhibit their products in one place.

"We would like to have both vehicle and component makers at one place. It is very important for us," Kirloskar said, adding that the tickets sales for the auto show would begin from November this year.

"Tickets would be available online, offline as well onsite. We are talking to various organisations including Book My Show, Barista and Delhi Metro for sale of tickets," Kirloskar said.
