Indian industry hopes 2002 will bring good cheer as it bids farewell to a gloomy 2001

Are the champagne corks popping as 2002 hoves into view? After a year of cutbacks and ravaged hopes, Indian industry is desperately hoping for better times. But are customers ready to reach for their wallets or credit cards and buy more of everything from televisions and two-wheelers to cars, cement and soft drinks?
