Drug major Lupin has posted a net profit of Rs 95.8 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2008, down 32.1 per cent, as against Rs 141.1 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
During the fourth quarter of 2007, Lupin had received an additional income of Rs 75 crore from the sale of intellectual property assets of the drug Perindropil to France-based Servier.

Net sales of the company rose 41 per cent to Rs 750.3 crore for the quarter as compared to Rs 531.8 crore in the corresponding period in the previous year, as per the unaudited financial results.

Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company, the research unit of drugmaker Sun Pharma, posted a profit of Rs 14.47 crore in the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2008.
The Baroda-based company had a loss of Rs 4.98 crore a year earlier, the company said. Revenue was Rs 24.51 crore in the three months ended March 31.
JK Lakshmi Cement FY08 net up 26%
JK Lakshmi Cement has posted a 26 per cent rise in net profit for the year ended March 2008 at Rs 223.67 crore against Rs 177.52 crore in the previous year. The company's net sales during the period was Rs 1,286 crore compared with Rs 971 crore, up 32 per cent.
"The good performance is attributed to increased production, higher cement sales and much improved all-round efficiencies," said Vinita Singhania, managing director, JK Lakshmi Cement.
"The rising costs of major inputs would have squeezed the margins, but for these improvements in efficiencies and cost savings", she added.
The company's earnings per share (EPS) during the year was Rs 38.72. The company is putting up a 2.7 million tonnes greenfield project in Chhattisgarh with an investment of Rs 1,100 crore.
