M&M plans three-wheeler unit in Hardwar

Company has bought 50 acres of land in an integrated industrial estate

Automobile giant Mahindra and Mahindra and herb producers Sanjivani are the new entrants to Uttaranchal.
 
Mahindra and Mahindra has taken around 50 acres of land for its proposed three-wheeler manufacturing facility and ancillaries by investing around Rs 50 crore.
 
The Integrated Industrial Estate of Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (Bhel), Hardwar, is attracting leading names in the fast moving consumer goods, pharma, electronic and automobile industry, according to an official statement here.
 
In the Hardwar industrial estate, being developed by the State Industrial Development Corporation, Hindustan Lever Ltd has already decided to set up its unit.
 
Sanjivani Industries Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of the Baidyanath Ayurved Bhavan Pvt Ltd, was keen on setting up its unit in Uttaranchal with an investment of Rs 3 crore, officials said.
 
The company is planning to set up its unit at the Hardwar integrated industrial estate. It plans to manufacture herbal medicines and cosmetics at the proposed unit.
 
Parag Gupta, managing director of the corporation, said with that total number of industries coming up in the Bhel's integrated industrial estate had gone up to 250. They were expected to invest around Rs 2,500 crore, he added.
 
The Pant Nagar integrated industrial estate has so far attracted 21 big names in the the fast moving consumer goods, pharma and steel sectors. These companies are likely to invest around Rs 250 crore and create 4,000 jobs.
 
They included Britannia Industries, Kirby Building System India Ltd, Dabur India, Haldiram, Parle, Samtel, Torrent Pharma, Northan Aromatics, Kanisha Steel Industry Ltd, Global Export, Khandelwal Laboratory, and Kanha Vanaspati. Some of them have already started constructing their units.
 
ATM: Meanwhile, the State Bank of India has decided to set up an automated teller machine (ATM) at the famous Badrinath shrine in June.
 
Thousands of pilgrims and foreign tourists visited the famous Badrinath temple perched in the Garhwal Himalayas at a height of 3,081 metres and the ATM facility would enable them to withdraw cash any time, BK Gairol, SBI chief general manager, said.
 
Stating that the bank had already set up special counters at all the four shrines of Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri, known as "Chardham", he said 40 networked ATMs had been set up in the Garhwal region and the bank was planning to set up 20 more this year.
 
Gairol said 163 bank branches had been computerised in the Garhwal region and were also having a single-window system.
 
The bank was also planning to soon introduce a core banking system under which all the branches in the state would be inter-linked, the SBI chief general manager said.
