Auto maker Mahindra & Mahindra today said it has entered into a long-term wage agreement with the Bharatiya Kamgar Sena Union (BKS) that represents workers at its Igatpuri plant in Maharashtra.

In a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange, the company said, "...The automotive sector of the company has entered into a long-term wage agreement with BKS, which represents the workmen of the company's Igatpuri plant near Nashik, Maharashtra."

The company said the agreement will be valid for three and half years.

Meanwhile, M&M has been facing labour problems in its Nashik plant.

Workers at the Nashik plant had gone on a tool down strike on May 4 following the suspension of their Union President — Madhav Dhatrak.

On May 13, M&M had said that an industrial court has declared the 10-day tool down strike by its employees at the Nashik plant as illegal and unjustified, and has asked the agitators to report to work within 48 hours.
