 "Mahindra Reva launches premium variant of e2o in Ahmedabad")
The Mahindra e2o Premium that was launched nationally from Ahmedabad today would come for Rs 5.72 lakh on road (in Delhi) and would be equipped with a host of features like the infotainment system, driver information system, reverse parking camera and assist. The car is also synced with one’s smartphone that would display the car’s battery levels, nearby charging stations etc.
Mahindra Reva has also introduced an innovative ownership scheme called ‘Goodbye Fuel, Hello Electric’ for its automatic electric car, the e2o. The programme separates the initial acquisition cost of the e2o and the usage cost (in the form of battery and maintenance) to make the e2o more affordable. The ownership of the battery lies with Mahindra Reva and the onus of its performance too lies with the company.

As a part of the scheme the consumer pays only for the distance he drives and saves more. In Delhi, the premium variant will cost around Rs 5.7 lakh with a monthly energy fee of Rs 2,999, which would allow the consumer to drive 50,000 kms for a period of five years.
Chetan Maini, founder and CEO of Mahindra Reva, said that there is also a car with an 80 km range, which would come for Rs 4.8 lakh in Delhi and a monthly cost of Rs 2599. Having sold less than 1000 cars last year, the company is now betting on the National Mission for Electric Mobility that is expected soon to boost sales through subsidising the electric vehicles.
The company, on its part, has put up around 300 charging stations across cities like Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai and Pune, and plans to add another 100 this year. Meanwhile, it is also working on electric versions of the Verito sedan and the Maxximo mini van from the Mahindra stable that are likely to hit the market by next year.
Mahindra has already showcased its electric Maxximo van during the Auto Expo earlier this year.
