Mahindra Satyam, the brand identity of IT service provider Satyam Computer Services, today announced key appointments in the company to strengthen its Asia Pacific (APAC) operations.

The appointments include Ram Ramachandran stepping in as the Head of Sales for the ASEAN region, while Darin McKay has been roped in as the Country Manager for New Zealand.

The company has also inducted Rahul Girotra as the Head of its SAP practice for the APAC region and Pranab Choudhury as the Country Manager for Thailand.

"I'm extremely excited about the new additions to our sales team. Their combined portfolio of regional experience will be an invaluable contribution to driving sales to expand our existing geographies and verticals as well as create new ones," Mahindra Satyam Head (APAC) Rohit Gandhi said in a statement.

Based in Singapore, Ramachandran will be responsible for leading Mahindra Satyam's sales and business development teams and key corporate development initiatives in this geography. He joins Mahindra Satyam from HCL Technologies.

As Country Manager for New Zealand, McKay's immediate task would be to expand the company's nascent business in the country, Mahindra Satyam said, adding that he has been associated with firms like Fujitsu and Vignette Corp.

Taking over Mahindra Satyam's SAP practice in APAC, Girotra would be based in Sydney and will manage the company's SAP alliance network in the region. He was earlier the head of Wipro's SAP business (Australia and New Zealand).

Pranab Choudhury would be responsible for developing new business opportunities in addition to overseeing Thailand operations, Mahindra Satyam said.

"Mahindra Satyam's ability to attract extremely high calibre candidates to these positions indicates the strong brand equity that Mahindra Satyam continues to have in the technology services market," Gandhi said.

Mahindra Satyam has also opened new sales offices in Canberra and Perth to cater to the growing Australian and New Zealand business opportunities.

While the Canberra sales force will focus on public sector business, the Perth team aims to leverage on the indigenous crude oil and natural gas boom in Perth, it said.

"With these two additions to our sales presence, Mahindra Satyam’s APAC sales operations are now stronger than ever before and we look forward to making new strides in our business there," Gandhi said.
