IT major Mahindra Satyam is looking hire around 5,000 people, including freshers and experienced professionals, by the end of next month, a senior company official said today.
"We are planning to hire around 5,000 people through the current recruitment drive across lateral and entry levels. The process is expected to be completed by March-end," the official told PTI.
Till a year ago, Mahindra Satyam, formerly Satyam Computer Services, was embroiled in a mammoth accounting scam and larges scale job losses were feared. The news of new hiring comes as breeze of fresh air.
The company would be holding walk-in interviews at all major cities across the country in the coming weeks.
"We are planning to conduct the interviews on weekends, so that people can easily come for them," the official added.
In a public advertisement, Mahindra Satyam today said it was looking for IT professionals with experience of 2-10 years. The job locations are across the company's offices in Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Vizag, Pune and Bhubaneshwar.

In recent weeks three biggies of IT sector-- TCS, Infosys and and Wipro-- have also announced plans to take on board over 53,000 together.
The new hiring plans of IT majors indicate the revival of the sector which had frozen recruitment after being hit by the global economic meltdown.
Of the host of IT companies which have recently announced their hiring plans, BPO giant Genpact said it would hire 10,000 people.
Besides, IBM is looking at recruiting 5,000 followed by Infosys BPO (2,000), Accenture (8,000) and Mphasis (2,000).
The various IT streams for which Mahindra Satyam is planning to recruit include business intelligence, SAP, oracle, content and portal management, infrastructure service among others.
In November last year, Mahindra Satyam had said it planned to appoint about 1,000 freshers and the above headcount ramp-up includes the previous announcement.
