"A new machinery production plant has been commissioned in China and should be functional by January 2007. At present, we produce around 50-60 automotive parts machinery, but once the plant begins to function fully, we expect to make about 100 units per year" Mahendra N Patel, chairman, Mamata group, told Business Standard. |

One of the company's subsidiaries, Mamata Energy, which develops patented innovative space cooling systems from long-term storage or from direct use of solar thermal energy is also planning to tie up with international companies. |

"We are planning to expand our presence in the energy sector with the international market offering a lot of potential. For that, we would be tying up with US and German companies in our endeavour to establish a global footprint, " said Patel. |

Mamata Machinery has entered into a joint venture with Klockner DESMA, Germany. "We are now a part of Klockner DESMA and hold a significant share in the firm now." said Patel. |

Talking about exports, Patel said "At present, we are exporting almost 70 per cent of our machinery that is around 130 a year to almost 60 countries. And in India we are supplying 70-80 machines per year". |

The company's market for bags and pouch making machines is around $ 300 million abroad and in India it has garnered revenue of Rs 45 crore. Its bottling line market is around $ 6 billion worldwide and in India it is around Rs 178 crore. |
