On the research and development front, Laboratories Robert will bring its products under development for clinical trials in India, utilising the Manipal Group's network of hospitals and infrastructure.
"To begin with, we will work together for clinical trials in India. Later on, we may think of forming a joint venture for manufacturing," said Robert Schwartz, president, Laboratories Robert Schwartz.
Manipal Cure & Care will initially market three ranges of cosmaceutical products of the Paris-based company in India and nearby markets.
The company plans to open 50 health and wellness centres by 2011, including the soon-to-be-launched centres in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore and Hyderabad.
"Apart from this, we will make the Robert Schwartz products available in malls and key shopping centres with a targeted annual sales of more than Rs 500 crore," said Somnath Das, chief operating officer, Manipal Cure & Care.

The factory is located in Brittany, which has been declared a part of the World Network of Biosphere Reserves by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO).
