FMCG major Marico today said its consolidated net profit for the year ended March 31, 2009 stood at Rs 188.71 crore, while it had a net profit of Rs 169.07 crore in the same period ended March 2008.
"During the previous year, the company changed its method of accounting depreciation on factory building. Consequently, the figures for current year ended March 31, 2009 are not comparable with the corresponding previous year figures," Marico said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Total income of the company stood at Rs 19,311.98 crore for the period ended March 2009, however, it had total income of Rs 1,914.59 crore in the same period last year.
Shares of Marico today settled at Rs 71.90, up 0.63 per cent on the BSE.
