Maruti Udyog today posted a 15.68% increase in domestic sales at 48,259 vehicles in August as against 41,717 vehicles sold in the same month last year.The company said the total sales stood at 51,855 vehicles in August this year, including 3,596 units of exports.Sales of Maruti 800 (A1 segment) dipped to 6,425 units in August, down 9.3% from 7084 units sold during the same month in 2005.The sales in the domestic A2 segment (comprising Alto, WagonR, Zen and Swift) grew 22.2% to 32,466 units as compared to 26,558 units in August 2005, while sales in the A3 segment (Baleno and Esteem) rose by 14.6% to 2,837 units as against 2,475 units sold last year in August.
