Maruti Suzuki, the country’s largest passenger vehicle manufacturer, reported a 22.5% growth in domestic sales for July, helped by high growth in its mini and compact segments.
This is the second highest monthly sales growth in the current financial year.
The company had reported domestic sales growth of 27% in April and 13% in May. In June, however, sales had softened to 1.8%.
The April-July volume for the company grew 15.3% to 416,099 units.
The company has reported growth across segments. Export volumes, however, remained flat at 11,307 units.
Total sales, including exports grew 20.1% in July and 15.4% in April-July period, said a company statement. Maruti reported a 56% jump in net profit for the quarter ended June 30 at Rs 1,193 crore.
The July sales performance by the company is expected to help the industry report a healthy growth in July.
