Suzuki Motor Corporation showcased its fifth global car 'A-Star' concept, which will be manufactured only in India. The company also showcased two other concept cars 'Splash' and 'Kazshi'."Our new plant in Manesar will play an important role in Suzuki Motor's target of selling three billion units globally by the financial year 2008-09. Production of A-Star will begin here from October," Shinzo Nakanishi, managing director, Maruti Suzuki India, said at the 9th Auto Expo today.Production of A-Star will start initially for the Indian market and it would be exported at a later stage, he added.Nakanishi also said Maruti will launch one new model in India every year to consolidate its market position.Suzuki Motor owns 54.2% stake in Maruti Suzuki India.Maruti Suzuki has hiked the price of Swift by Rs 9,500 across all variants in both petrol and diesel version, a company official said.
