Maruti Suzuki India, country's largest passenger car maker, sold 69,415 units in October, 2007, up 15.4% from 60,163 units in the same month last year. Its domestic sales grew by 15% to 64,258 cars from 55,894 cars. On the export front, company exported 20.8% more units at 5,157 cars compared with 4,269 units in October last year. The company registered a whooping rise in the sales of its A3 segment cars comprising Esteem, SX4 and Baleno. The segment sales grew by 54.7% to 4,177 from 2,700. However, its A1 segment car - M800, saw a decline of 29.5% with sales at 4,477 units against 6,354 units last year in October. The company's volume in the domestic A2 segment went up by 20.9% and in A3 segment grew by 54.7% during the month compared to sales in October 2006.The company's stock price on the Bombay Stock Exchange at 1125 hrs traded at Rs 1,052, down 2% from yesterday's close of Rs 1,074.
