Maruti Suzuki plans to further strengthen its presence in the most remote areas of the country. |
The company over the last seven months sold almost 10 per cent of its total cars in rural areas, said Maruti Suzuki's chief general manager (marketing) Mayank Pareek. |
"Rich people in villages like the sarpanch or traders or prominent farmers are willing to buy cars but are not 'tapped' by dealers. Through a focused approach, we are pushing our Alto and Swift brands in rural areas," Pareek added. |
For this, it would also increase its rural dealership from 1,500 now. |
