At present, 30 Nexa stores are operational in 23 cities across India. Maruti Suzuki will add stores in 30 more cities across the country increasing the number of Nexa channel to 100 by March 2016.
"We are targeting to increase our premium channel network in India and as a part of it, we will open 100 new Nexa stores mainly in metro cities and tier-II cities," said Sanjiv Handa, vice president - Marketing, Maruti Suzuki.
The company launched Nexa in late July this year and within a short span of time the network has spread across 23 cities in the country.
Handa said: "We are increasing Nexa network, but it will not convert old networking into Nexa. It is a purely new concept, which treats our clients in a premium way."
In Gujarat, Maruti Suzuki plans to open seven new Nexa stores in Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara and Rajkot in the near future.
"The investment on the showrooms would be done by the dealers, but they have to follow our specifications on design, space and look of the showroom. We will help the dealers train relationship managers," said Handa.
The company on Thursday launched its new premium car S-Cross in Ahmedabad. According to the company, Gujarat contributes nearly 18 per cent to company's overall sales. It had 46 per cent market share in Gujarat during last fiscal, while in the first quarter of the current financial year, it registered 50.2 per cent market share in the state.
