Within two months of removing its former CEO, Pervez Ahmed, Max Healthcare today appointed Ajay Bakshi in his place, while also announcing appointments of two other important top positions.
Bakshi will take over the role of CEO with immediate effect, the company said, adding it has appointed Abha Agrawal as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Ranvir Bhandari as the Chief Services Officer.
The change in management follows the exit of Ahmed as CEO and Managing Director of the Max Healthcare in September this year.
The company had announced the formation of an interim team at that time to take care of day-to-day operations till a new structure is in place.
Commenting on the new appointments Max Healthcare Managing Director Rahul Khosla said: "In today's world it is very important to harness and leverage on a mixture of different domain expertises"
Instead of having one person who takes every decisions, the company wanted accountability to be clear but the process of the taking that decision should invite as much expertise as possible, he added.

Prior to his new assignment, Bakshi was as an associate principal with Mckinsey & Company. Agrawal, on the other hand served as the Chief Medical Officer and Chief Informatics Officer at Kings County Hospital Centre in New York.
Bhandari had recently joined Max Ventures -- the private arm of Max India's promoters businesses as Executive Vice-Chairman. He will now assume the additional role of Chief Services Officer at Max Healthcare.
Max Group promoter Analjit Singh has been working on a professional succession plan. In June, he had stepped down as the Managing Director Max India group and appointed a professional, Rahul Khosla, for the position.
When asked about the company's expansion plans Khosla said: "We are almost doubling our bed capacity by implementing four new hospitals.. I believe, we all believe it will take all our strength, capability and focus on quality to deliver these properly"
"We'll expand after that but in a very measured and sure footed manner," he added.
Max Healthcare operates 8 hospitals with 1,100 beds in Delhi NCR region. South Africa's Life Healthcare acquired a 26% stake in the company earlier this month for Rs 516 crore.
