"We are focusing on creating first of its kind vibrant residential apartments for senior citizens in Dehradun," said Singh.
The project, which will be completed in 2015, is spread across 20 acres with a view of Mussoorie hills and designed to meet the needs of senior citizens. The apartments will be in the range of Rs 1.5 crore to Rs 4.5 crore; three penthouses will cost Rs 7 crore. Initially, occupants will have to pay Rs 29,000 a month for availing facilities such as food, laundry and security. For medical facilities at the nearby Max super-specialty hospital, occupants will be given special discounts, said Tara.
Explaining the concept, Tara Singh said India in 2011 had 98 million elderly citizens with base growing at 3.8 percent. By 2016, India is expected to have 118 million senior citizens as the life expectancy will cross 70 years by then, she said. "Our vision is to create fun and healthy lifestyle for senior citizens keeping in mind the world class standards," said Singh.
