Malaysian billionaire Ananda Krishnan, whose Maxis Communications is in the race for acquiring Hutch-Essar, is understood to have recently visited India for partnering the Maran family-promoted Sun TV in the Direct-To-Home (DTH) business.The DTH joint venture is sought to be forged between the Krishnan-promoted Astro All Asia Networks and a company belonging to the Sun TV Group promoted by Kalanidhi Maran, the brother of Communications Minister Dayanidhi Maran.Sources following the developments said Krishnan paid a silent visit to the national capital over the weekend to meet key cabinet ministers.Spokespersons for Maxis as well as Astro did not respond to queries on Krishnan's visit.Astro though said through a statement to the Malaysian stock exchange Bursa Malaysia that it was keen to enter the Indian DTH satellite television market in alliance with Sun Direct TV.
