The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) is putting a structure in place to ensure companies do not resort to fraud, said minister Salman Khurshid.
Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the 37th national convention of company secretaries here on Thursday, he said the MCA already had digital filing and online data on companies, and would isolate certain behaviour patterns indicating something was going wrong.
“It’s quite possible that a company shows exceptional performance and may have unusual circumstances. But these require a special look by the ministry, to give an early warning (if required) to the government and the company,’’ he said.
