McDowell's No 1, the flagship brand of United Spirits Limited, has unveiled McDowell's No 1 Friendzy, a friendship carnival in Kolkata, Durgapur, Asansol and Siliguri, as part of its brand building exercise during Durga Puja.
Marked by various entertainment genres, McDowell's No 1 Friendzy is expected to be a fun-filled evening at the participating puja pandals, while clubs and bars will offer engaging offers to friends. The campaign will continue from now till November.
Kaushik Chatterjee, chief operating officer, United Spirits, said, "McDowell's No 1 Friendzy will be supported by a radio, outdoor, mobile, internet and print campaign. The carnival will include performances in music, games like a simple Finger Volley with a match box, 5 piece chess, where instead of regular 16 pieces, set of five will be provided to a group and in just three moves they need to outsmart the emcee to win.”
McDowell's No 1 will be available across 700 outlets in West Bengal and Kolkata.
The McDowell's No 1 franchise, across whisky, rum and brandy, commands a retail value of Rs 7600 crore, according to Pash Beverage Research 2008, thereby becoming the largest FMCG brand in India.
The brand registered a growth of 25 per cent over last year.
