MCL plans to be $100 m company in next 3 years

Mahindra Consulting (MCL), which recently merged with the US-based Bristlecone Inc that specialises in enterprise resource planning (ERP), plans to be a $100 million company in the next three years.
 
Prashant Karkhanis, global head of business consulting for Mahindra Consulting said, "We plan 50-60 per cent growth year over year and plan to touch the $100-million mark in the next three years."
 
The combined entity currently has a turnover of around $25 million. It plans to recruit another 400-500 people in the next couple of years, which is in addition to the more than 400 existing staff.
 
MCL, which is a leading SAP consulting organisation, is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Mahindra & Mahindra.
 
Elaborating MCL's future plans, Karkhanis said, "MCL aims to be among the top three SAP partners in India. Leadership position is critical to us. In the last eight years we have built a reputation and strength in providing business solutions in SAP domain and we will continue to be an SAP focus company, helping its client to optimise his supply chain and improve manufacturing efficiency by using SAP solutions."
 
Over the years, MCL has developed an expertise in implementing SAP in vertical sectors of automobiles, oil & gas, consumer product group and pharmaceuticals.
 
MCL also provides pre-product consulting to companies desirous of implementing an ERP system. The needs of the client are analysed and the processes to be followed are drawn.
 
The company also provides post-implementation support on an annual basis. "We have now started more value-added service for our clients. "Benefit Realisation service helps clients to improve return of investment and optimise the value of SAP from each stakeholder perspective in the organisation," Karkhanis added. In fact, MCL has recently started an optimisation project for one of the MNC operating in India.
 
Meanwhile, MCL completed one of its major implementations at Qatar Petroleum, one of the biggest oil companies in the Middle East. It is already engaged with Fortune 500 companies like General Motors, Unilever, ABB, Novartis, Autodesk, Reliance, Vikram Ispat, BPCL, ONGC, IOC and Sony among others. "With the new SAP enterprise version being launched last year in India, we see a big growth in business," added Karkhanis.
 
MCL also plans to step up its European operations significantly and enter countries such as Australia, South Africa and France, where it already has projects through partners. Besides its head office in North America and development centres in Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore. It also has offices in the Middle East, Germany, Singapore and the UK.
