Guess which stressbuster corporates are turning to in these tense times? Meditation.
With rising levels of stress amid stiff competition, companies are turning to age-old therapy-meditation-with the sole objective of providing a few stress-free moments to employees.
Companies such as Wagh Bakri group and Cadila Healthcare have already designed meditation rooms for their employees, while Claris Lifesciences plans to set up a dedicated wing for "Silence and Peace" at its corporate office in Ahmedabad.
Meditation has become a way of life for employees of Ahmedabad-based tea manufacturer Wagh Bakri Group. One can easily find a number of employees meditating at Wagh Bakri's corporate office. The company created a "Dhyan Room" at its corporate office for meditation. The room has a capacity to accommodate more than 30 people and it is well equipped with music system.
"Our corporate office has around 160 employees and many of them use meditation room in the afternoon hours. Employees get around 15 to 20 minutes of spare time after lunch and many of them use our meditation room for mental peace and meditation," said managing director of Wagh Bakri, Rasesh Desai, who came up with the idea of starting a medidation facility for the employees.
"Whenever, all the board of directors are in town, we unfailingly meet at our "Dhyan Room" and start our work after meditation," Piyush Desai, Chairman, Wagh Bakri.
