MedPlus Healthcare Services, a Hyderabad-headquartered healthcare network, has tied up with Wockhardt Hospitals to provide preventive care and non-invasive treatment services for cardiac disorders. Under the arrangement, a cardiologist belonging to Wockhardt will offer consultation for early diagnosis and post operative care to patients at the Medplus outlets.
Addressing a press conference here today, MedPlus founder and chief executive officer Madhukar Gangadi, said the tie-up would offer medical care services in tier II and tier III cities. This would initially start in about five MedPlus centres in Andhra Pradesh and then scaled up to other places.
Medplus, which has 600 stores in seven states, is looking to take the number to 1,000 by March next year. It plans to start at least one clinic for every 10 stores, he said.
Wockhardt head (operations) Sudhaker Jadhav said MedPlus and Wockhardt would operate mobile cardiac care screening units equipped with an ECG and a 2D echo system for evaluating the risk profile of the patients. A dietician and a cardiologist will also be part of the mobile team for counselling and diagnosis respectively.
The revenue sharing between the two partners is yet to be worked out.
