During the 'Autom@tion Tech 2013', manufacturing sector companies and automation technology firms will deliberate on ways to enhance innovation in domestic firms, AIA said in a statement. "Participants will examine how global and local companies have created automation technologies to improve business profitability and sustainability," it said.
It said that the growth of manufacturing sector in India is not healthy due to lack of innovation and use of high-end technologies. After contracting for two straight months, industrial production entered the positive zone in July, recording a growth of 2.6 per cent on account of improved performance of manufacturing and power sectors. Indian manufacturing sector firms are facing problems like technology obsolescence and financial liquidity.
"Speakers from Mahindra & Mahindra and Kimberly Clark will share how they have built appropriate manufacturing intelligence in their operations and developed in-house capability to leverage automation," it added.
