MeraEvents, the ticket-selling platform of Hyderabad-based technology company Versant Online Solutions, has partnered Uber Technologies, a venture-funded startup and transportation network company headquartered in California.

Uber, a mobile location-based private driver service, had received a $258-million funding from Google Ventures in August 2013. It connects passengers with drivers of vehicles for hire and ride-sharing services.

"Any customer of MeraEvents can get an exclusive offer of two free Uber rides up to Rs 500 each. All they have to do is buy tickets on MeraEvents.com to get Uber's promo code," said Naidu Darapaneni, founder and chief executive officer of MeraEvents.

Uber has presence in cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad and Chennai. It can also be used globally in 76 cities across 31 countries.

Floated in 2009, MeraEvents caters to six categories of events - professional, entertainment, trade shows, college, spiritual and training programmes. While the entertainment segment accounts for 50% of its revenues, the remaining comes from professional events, other categories constitute the remaining.
