German luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz is upbeat about the Andhra Pradesh market and is planning to open dealerships in Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam, according to Suhas Kadlaskar, director (corporate affairs), Mercedes-Benz India Pvt Ltd.
Addressing the media after launching their new C-class model here on Tuesday, Kadlaskar said it offered better fuel efficiency and lower emissions with its new charged gasoline injection (CGI) technology, Kadlaskar said.
The C 200 CGI is priced at Rs 29.50 lakh (ex-showroom Hyderabad).
“More than 10,000 luxury cars are sold every year in India and Mercedes has close to 45 per cent share in it. This year, we aim to sell 70 per cent more cars,” he added.
Mercedes Benz sold 1,600 cars in India in the last four months compared to 800 in the same period in 2009.
