Merck today reported a net profit of Rs 84.24 crore for the second quarter ended June 30, 2006 as against Rs 24.24 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2005. According to a release issued to the BSE today, total income dropped to Rs 87.01 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006 from Rs 114.89 crore in the quarter ended June 30, 2005."The sale of life science & analytics business, excluding bulk drugs business, has been effective April 1, 2006. Therefore the figures for the previous quarter are not comparable," the release added.
