Metso Minerals, the rock and mineral processing company from Finland with its India headquarters at Gurgaon will expand its manufacturing and foundry capacities in Gujarat and Haryana with an investment of ¤12.5 million (around Rs 71 crore) to be completed by 2008-end. |
The company has a steel foundry in Ahmedabad with a production capacity of 2,000 tonnes per year. The foundry focuses on manganese and chrome-ware parts for small and medium size crushers across Europe and Asia. |

Post expansion, the capacity for crusher wear parts and pump castings is set to triple by by 2009 with an expected capacity of 7,000 tons per year. The expansion includes the doubling of floor space, as well as adding more lifting capacity and production equipment. |

The expansion at the factory at Bawal in Haryana, which handles project configurations of all scales includes building an assembly line dedicated to mobile crushing and vibrating equipment, doubling the current floor space, as well as procurement of new production equipment. With this investment, Metso plans to double the supply of mobile crushing and vibrating units by the end of 2009. |

The total investment for the expansion is set to be split 1/3rd each for the foundry at Ahmedabad, factory at Bawal and for a new office coming up in Gurgaon. |

The Indian customer base is expanding and the customer requirements are developing toward bigger and more efficient plant solutions.
