Las Vegas-based MGM Hospitality today announced its entry into the Indian market by partnering with Silver Resort Hotel India to develop a luxury property in the country.
MGM Hospitality will provide design assistance and operate a 480-room luxury hotel in Delhi under the brand 'MGM Grand' to be developed by Silver Resort Hotel, a company promoted by Blue Coast Hotels.
"This announcement is of particular significance as it marks our company's entry into the burgeoning India marketplace," MGM Hospitality President and CEO Gamal Aziz said in a statement.
The project is slated to start in March this year and is expected to be operational in early 2014.
At present, Blue Coast Hotels operates a 251-room five-star deluxe luxury resort Park Hyatt Goa Resort and Spa in Goa.
The company has also acquired land from Delhi International Airport (DIAL) to develop an upscale luxury hotel with hotel apartments.
