French tyre manufacturer Michelin has entered into an agreement with TVS Group company TVS Srichakra for the manufacture of two-wheeler bias tires.
P Vijayaraghavan, director, TVS Srichakra Ltd, said the company had entered into an agreement with Michelin to manufacture bias motorcycle and scooter tyres designed by Michelin for the Indian market at its Madurai facility.
TVS Srichakra would contract manufacture Michelin’s two-wheeler bias tyres at this facility as well as some tyres from TVS’ product range of two-wheeler tyres.
“TVS Tyres and Michelin would put in place respective best practices to deliver world-class tyres to Indian consumers,” said Vijayaraghavan, while refusing to share investment details.
The Madurai unit of TVS Srichakra has an annual capacity of 3.6 million tyres.
It may be noted Michelin has a facility in Tamil Nadu for manufacturing radial bus and truck tyres.
