Bosch Group's flagship arm in India, MICO, has launched a capsule, anti-spurious packaging for core components of its fuel injection system. |
MICO said it spent Rs 50 crore to develop the packaging and products rolled out of Bangalore and Nashik plants will be wrapped under the method. |
The packaging contains vapour corrosion inhibitor impregnated foam for rust prevention and a label with hidden security features. |
A MICO statement said that the packaging will be extensively used for injection system products like elements, delivery valves and nozzles. The statement added that MICO had developed the product in India over the two years. |
"Thirty-eight per cent of automotive components sold in India are counterfeit according to an NCAER (National Council for Applied Economic Research) commissioned by ACMA (Automobile Component Manufacturers Association)," V K Bedi, deputy general manager, automotive aftermarket division, MICO said. |
"Our new packaging will help reduce the problem of counterfeit products and ensure that our customers buy authentic MICO products." |
