The board meeting of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Tata Sons, first since Cyrus Mistry was ousted as Chairman of the company on Novermber 10, was held in Mumbai on Thursday. The agenda of meeting was to decide the date for an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) to seek removal of Mistry. Sources confirmed that Mistry did not attend the meeting.
However, Ishaat Hussain, who was appointed as the interim chairman at TCS, attended the board meeting, said sources. Mistry, who is no longer the chairman of TCS, continues to be director at the firm. In addition to this, he holds company shares worth Rs 41.6 lakh at TCS.
Sources have also confirmed that Mistry may not be part of Tata Sons board meeting too. This is the first meeting of the Tata Sons board after the appiontment of two new directors- N Chandrasekaran, chief executive officer (CEO) and managing director of TCS and Ralph Speth, who became the CEO of Jaguar Land Rover automobile company. The other board members of the Tata Sons board include Ratan Tata, Nitin Nohria, Venu Srinivasan, Ajay Piramal, Amit Chandra, Vijay Singh, Ishaat Hussain, Ronen Sen and Farida Khambata.
