MMTC, a public sector commodities trading major, reported a rise of 33.83 per cent in its net profit at Rs 55.23 crore for the quarter ended June compared with Rs 41.27 crore in the previous corresponding quarter.
The company's net sales grew 60.5 per cent during the quarter to Rs 12,045.53 crore as against Rs 7,502.19 crore last year, MMTC said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
The shares of the company closed weak on Wednesday at Rs 30,261.35, down 0.69 per cent or Rs 208.85.
