Monnet Ispat, Nandan Exim & PVR Q3 results

Monnet Ispat reported 15.21 per cent decline in net profit at Rs 30.04 crore for the third quarter ended December 2005 as compared with Rs 35.43 crore in the same quarter of the previous financial year.
 
Net sales from operations decreased 17.84 per cent to Rs 120.91 crore from Rs 147.18 crore in the year-ago period, a company release said. Profit before tax decreased to Rs 33.24 crore duirng the quarter as against Rs 38.44 crore in the year-ago period.
 
The company's EPS (basic and diluted) also decreased to Rs 9.24 from Rs 10.35. The company also said iron ore mining from its captive mine started duirng the quarter.
 
Nandan Exim net up 188%
 
Nandan Exim, part of the Ahmedabad-based Chiripal group, reported 187.56 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 6.24 crore for the third quater ended Decemder 2005 as compared with Rs 2.17 crore in last corresponding quarter. Sales totalled Rs 33.56 crore.
 
Gross profit after interest and before depreciation for the quater has been reported at Rs 15.58 crore.
 
PVR net up 109%
 
PVR Ltd posted 109 per cent growth in net profit at Rs 71 lakh for the quarter ended December 2005 as compared with Rs 34 lakh during the corresponding quarter last year.
 
Revenues for the quarter stood at Rs 24.88 crore, up 48 per cent as against Rs 16.81 crore last year. Profit before tax grew by 123 per cent to Rs 1.18 crore from Rs 53 lakh in the year-ago period.
 
For the nine months ended December 2005, net profit Increased 49 per cent at Rs 4.58 crore as compared with Rs 3.06 crore during the corresponding period last year. Revenues were up by 59 per cent at Rs 80.59 crore.
