Moser Baer posts Rs 2.76-crore profit
Moser Baer India, the optical storage manufacturer, has posted a net profit of Rs 2.76 crore for the first quarter ended June 2009, compared with a net loss of Rs 103.98 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2008. Total income has increased to Rs 563.40 crore from Rs 496.8 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2008.
Deccan Chronicle net up
Hyderabad-based publisher of newspapers and periodicals, Deccan Chronicle Holdings Ltd, has posted a 26.3 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 77.02 crore in the first quarter ended June 30, compared with a profit of Rs 60.98 crore recorded during the corresponding quarter last year. Revenues grew by 12.1 per cent to Rs 223.70 crore from Rs 199.46 crore last year.
Somany Ceramics net up nearly 100%
Tiles and sanitaryware maker Somany Ceramics has reported a 99.51 per cent jump in its net profit in the first quarter of the current fiscal at Rs 3.48 crore, as against Rs 1.78 crore during the same period last year. The company also reported a growth of 18.91 per cent in its net sales at Rs 99.59 crore for the quarter ended June 30, compared with Rs 83.75 crore during the corresponding period of 2008-09.
