Moser Baer India Ltd, the third largest optical media manufacturer in the world, today announced the launch of optical media recordable compact disks (CD-Rs) under the company brand name.
The company has been an original equipment manufacturer for Sony and Samsung. This will be its first attempt to launch its own brand.
Moser Baer aims to capture half of the Rs 400 crore optical media market in the country.

Primarily aimed at the premium segment, the CD-Rs would come in packs of 10 and 100 at Rs 20 and Rs 12.50 a piece, respectively, said Deepak Puri, managing director, Moser Baer India.
The company aims to leverage its manufacturing strengths, technology leadership and cost-effective position to replicate its global success in India, Puri said.
Moser Baer has a presence in 82 countries and almost 80 per cent of its revenues come from international markets.
Puri said there was no plan yet to export products under the company
