Motherson Sumi Q4 net rises marginally to Rs 196 cr

Consolidated net income during FY13 stood at Rs 25,617 cr compared to Rs 14,908 cr in FY12, up 71.84%

Auto component maker Motherson Sumi Systems today reported a marginal increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 196 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2013.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 195 crore in the corresponding period last year, Motherson Sumi Systems said in a filing on the BSE.

The consolidated net income during the January-March, 2013 quarter also went up by 3.90% to Rs 6,675.84 crore from Rs 6,425.23 crore in the year-ago period, it added.

For the entire 2012-13 financial year, Motherson Sumi Systems's consolidated net profit soared 71.21% at Rs 444.54 crore as against Rs 259.64 crore in the previous fiscal, the statement said.

The consolidated net income during FY13 stood at Rs 25,616.96 crore compared to Rs 14,907.58 crore in FY12, up 71.84%.

In its meeting, the Board of Directors has recommended a dividend of Rs 2 per share for the year ended March 31, 2013.

Commenting on the performance, Motherson Sumi Systems Chairman V C Sehgal said: "We would like to thank our customers and collaborators for their continued trust and support. It is because of them, the company could deliver consistent and superior performance across all business segments in spite of the gloomy market conditions."

Shares of the company were quoting 0.19% higher at Rs 213.55 apiece on the BSE during afternoon trade.
