Motherson Sumi Systems has reported a rise of 475 per cent in the consolidated net profit for the second quarter of the current financial year.
The consolidated sales have increased 21 per cent during the same period.
According to a stock exchange announcement, the company clocked a profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 85.98 crore for the second quarter of FY11, as against Rs 14.96 crore reported in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal. Meanwhile, the total sales was pegged at Rs 1,916.17 crore for Q2FY11, as against Rs 1587.84 crore in Q2FY10.
The basic earnings per share in Q2FY11 has risen to Rs 2.22 from 0.42 in Q2FY10. Shares of Motherson Sumi were trading nearly two per cent lower on the National Stock Exchange at Rs 185.10.
