UK-based global multi-disciplinary consultancy firm Mott MacDonald is likely to finalise a master plan by February 2008 for regeneration projects in Howrah, Bali, Uluberia, Domjur and Sankrail, involving a total area of around 260 sq km."These rejuvenation projects are to be implemented over a period of 15 years and Mott MacDonald will evolve the master plan in association with the UK-based Department for International Development(DFID). At present, we are having stakeholders' workshops featuring about 3,000 people in these areas which will continue till December 10", Amit Mukherjee, divisional director of Mott MacDonald India said on the sidelines of an interactive session on UK Trade and Investment, organised by CII.Currently, Mott MacDonald is presenting the urban regeneration models of Surat and Faridabad to the people of these areas in Howrah district.Mott MacDonald would identify 3-4 crucial projects following the interaction with the people and on the basis of micro plans formulated by the state development agencies.
