MSSL eyes export of 450-containers

Mahindra Shubhlabh Services Ltd (MSSL), a Mahindra Group company, has set a target of exporting 450 containers of grapes (Around 5,400 tonnes) in the current grape season 2008-09 (Nov 08 to March 09).

The company has reportedly signed a contract with around 550 grape growers from Nashik and Sangli districts to source export quality grapes. This year, the company has plans to source grapes from Latur too.

“The company has set a target of exporting 450-container grapes (5,400 tonnes) for the current grape season (2008-09). The company will source 325 containers from Nashik district and 75 containers grapes from Sangli district, while rest of the containers are to be sourced from Latur district, through contract farming. In the Nashik district, the company has signed contracts with 400 grape growers to source export quality grapes. In the Sangli district, the company has signed contracts with 50 grape growers for the purpose,” sources said.
