"Our data contribution is around 30 per cent of the total revenue but with 3G plus network based on CDMA EVDO Rev.B phase II technology, we hope that our data revenue will jump sharply to cross 50 per cent of the total revenue of West Bengal in next one year," Kolkata and West Bengal circle COO Sandeep Marwaha said.
He said the revenue growth expectations from data for national operation will also be on similar lines.The company currently has three million voice and 1.5 lakh data customers in Kolkata and Bengal circles.

Marwaha said the company covered entire Kolkata and 32 towns of West Bengal with 3G plus network that allows peak data speed of 9.8Mbps with superior penetration and outdoor.
MTS was in negotiation with phone makers like Micromax to introduce Rev B compatible handset over the next two to three months.
"Currently, we are offering 3G plus speed only on data cards but soon Rev B compatible handset will be launched to offer high speed internet on handset," Marwaha said. Marwaha said MTS has not raised the tariff despite high speed connectivity and offers Mblaze ultra dongle at Rs 1299 and offers discount for consumers upgrade to new version of dongle.
