Mukund Rajan appointed Tata Group's first brand custodian

Will manage corporate communications, brand related activities in India

Tata Group veteran Mukund Rajan has been appointed as the brand custodian and group spokesperson, the company announced today. Rajan will oversee and manage all corporate communications and brand related activities for the group in India and overseas. Rajan is the first appointee to the post.

Additionally, he will serve as the chief ethics officer of the group and also oversee all Tata group corporate social responsibility  activities as Chairman of the Tata Council for Community Initiatives (TCCI). His appointment is with immediate effect and in his new role, he will report directly to group chairman, Cyrus Mistry, the company said.

Rajan has been in the group for over 18 years and in his last assignment was the head of  private equity advisory at Tata Capital Ltd and managing partner of the advisory team of the Tata Opportunities Fund. He  previously  served as managing director of Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Ltd., and as vice president in  chairman’s office at Tata Sons.

Padmanabh Sinha, who holds the chare of chief investment officer in Tata Capital Ltd replaces Rajan as the managing partner in the company. Bobby Pauly will take charge as partner of advisory team for Tata Opportunities Fund. The company announced that the replacements following Rajan's transfer to Tata Sons.
