What did you think of the Budget?
The markets have reacted to the Budget in a kneejerk manner. In a holistic sense, it’s a good, realistic and a constructive Budget.
What were your expectations?
I was wishing corporation tax would go down. I was also hoping that the interest rate on housing loans would have come down, but that didn’t find a mention in the Budget.
Have your other expectations been met?
Yes. This Budget didn’t offer anything spectacularly different but it didn’t take away anything from the tax payer too. The finance minister can’t please everyone but he’s done his bit for different sectors in my view.
Any concerns?
I’ll reiterate that from a business perspective a change in corporation tax by way of its reduction would have been welcome.
What does the Budget mean to you on a personal level?
The increase in tax exemption limit for women is a good move. One had hoped for a lot more reduction in the tax slab, but I won’t complain.
