My Dollarstore open outlet in Jalandhar

Keeping in mind the large NRI population in Jalandhar, American's famous chain of stores, My Dollarstore, has opened its branch in posh Model Town. Each item there is priced at Rs 99.

"A housewife or a child, a college-goer or a professional, My Dollarstore will have something for every one--cosmetics, confectionary items, colas and juices, hair and body care products, toys, and decorative articles, stationary, etc," said Ajoy Krishnamurthy, chief executive officer of Sankalp Retail Value Stories Private Ltd, master franchisee of My Dollarstore in India.

"Not just that, there will always be something happening at My Dollarstore--crazy deals, bungle offers or seasonal promotions, all to make shopping more fun," he said.

Krishnamurthy said after opening Jalandhar's outlet, the number of stores had reached 40 and in the current financial year, it was expected the company would have 60 more outlets, of which 15-20 would be in Punjab.

"MyDollarstore has a presence in Mumbai, New Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Chennai, Bhubaneshwar, Indore, Bhopal, Jamnagar, Coimbatore, Bhavnagar and Jaipur and several other cities across the country," he said, adding the company's turnover in India was Rs 25 crore and this year more than 100 per cent growth was expected.
